Info To Protect Our 2Nd Amendment Rights

By Carmella Watts

The Second Amendment is part of the Bill of Rights in the United States of America. This amendment is part of the Constitution and protects the right for citizens to keep and bear arms. It was first adopted in December of 1791. In recent years, legislation has been introduced that many believe threaten our rights and so some may be interested in how to protect our 2nd amendment rights.

This has long been recognized as an auxiliary right. It supports the natural rights of citizens to defend themselves, resist oppression and act in defense of the state. However, a perceived increase in gun violence has led many governments to place laws regulating how guns can be purchased and are to be used. There have been many famous cases in American history related to this amendment.

Some suggest that implementation of outreach and education programs can help. These are meant to teach individuals, and reduce misuse and violence of guns. Many people are against the addition of new gun laws and restrictions. They think the government needs to enforce what is in place rather than add new ones. Not all share this point of view. Others think that added legislation is a good idea. In their arguments they note the many lives that have been taken away because of misuse of guns.

This amendment has different versions. Most of which only differ in punctuation and capitalization. How the published, ratified, drafted and signed versions differ is a major subject of debate among some groups. In fact, there are people who believe these each have their own interpretations and meanings, particularly when it comes to the introductory clause.

Many groups have been formed for the sole purpose of fighting against this legislation. It is common for individuals to gather in protest of new legislation. There are also many who draft petitions in which they try to get a substantial amount of signatures and share with their local government officials to push or resist a specific cause.

Such initiatives are typically focused on and based in America. These groups believe in the human right to self preserve. They strive to uphold this section of the Bill of Rights because they believe it is essential to maintain liberty. These people strongly believe that their right to bear arms is not only being infringed on but also vilified. Education is a top priority for most of these groups.

Members of collectives say that they are lawful individuals and should not be penalized for the wrongful misuse of weapons by criminals. They maintain that their purpose in having these guns is only to protect themselves and their loved ones when they are in dangerous, harmful situations. They consider themselves to be peaceable men and women whose only objective is to defend their property and lives.

There is much debate in the United States among citizens who want to protect our 2nd amendment rights and others who want to add more regulations regarding bearing arms. In recent years, the debate has heated up with government officials pushing more legislation and gun violence at an all time high. There are numerous petitions, strikes, groups and other initiatives being formed on a daily basis with the purpose to protect the Second Amendment of the US Constitution. These supporters believe that this is a natural born right that gives liberty to all.
