White Turban Is Fashionable Choice

By Nita McKinney

To many women, a head covering is an important part of bringing an outfit together and completing the total package. Others wear them just because they like the way they look and still others will utilize them as a fashionable response to a medical condition. Though available in many colors, wearing a white turban makes a classic statement of fresh sophistication.

There was a time when mentioning a turban automatically brought to mind a covering worn my specific religious groups. In the world of today, however, this term now covers a broad spectrum of snug fitting head gear that resembles the namesake in any way. Winding one with a scarf is an acquired, yet unnecessary skill since they may now be purchased as permanent forms that slip on like a hat.

Through fabrics with printed designs and the use of any number of different embellishments, one can achieve endless fashion options that are suitable for virtually any occasion. Bows, pins, gemstones, studs, rosettes and sequins are only a few of the things that could be used to give a plain cap a unique flair. It is also a great way to personalize a look.

From simplified headband wraps to stretchable caps, turbans are so much more versatile than they once were. They are the leading choice of head covering among women who are undergoing treatments for cancerous conditions or who suffer from alopecia. If one's hair is being uncooperative or is in dire need of a trip to the beauty salon, slipping into this type of headdress can hide those issues until they can be resolved.

This style of covering can be any number of styles from an intricately wound and embellished cap to a plain with silk scarf. The versatility of the style makes it so that some model will be perfect for the a night out while another will be just as great for hanging around the house. There is even a terry cloth version that takes the place of a towel for drying hair.

An easy and versatile way to wrap a scarf is the Hermes style. It begins by folding the cloth into a triangle and placing it over the head, wrapping the ends around and tying them into a knot over the open point. Though the design is simple, the look changes depending on whether or not the bow is placed in the front, back or on the side of the head.

Some caps are sewn to appear as if they have been elaborately folded through in reality they are slipped on as easily as a hat. When all of the hair is tucked up inside the covering, the look is sophisticated. For a touch of flirty fun, many women opt to leave their bangs or loose locks hanging out from underneath the band.

A white turban can be made from a long scarf or purchased as a hat and serve as the finishing touch on most any outfit. The options are so vast that it possible to never have the same look twice. Regardless of one's preferred style, they may all be personalized through the addition of trinkets and accessories that will make the ensemble completely unique.
