How To Make A BJD Doll
One would probably be familiar with beautiful fragile dolls that he would see in houses as decorations. Now most of these dolls are what is known as a BJD doll and is basically made out of balls and joints. Now if one is a fan of these kinds of dolls, it is actually possible for him to make one of these at home and customize it the way that he wants.
Now the very first thing that one should do before he starts his project would be to create a design for his figure. Now this is probably the most important part because it is in this part that one will be creating the blueprint for his project. Now he may draw his design on his notebook and edit it along the way.
The next thing now to do would be to buy the sculpting materials for the project. The best thing to buy would be Super Sculpey as this brand is the best for making dolls like these. Once one already has the Super Sculpey, then the next thing to do would be to create the skeleton of the doll.
So in order to create the skeleton of the doll, one has to start by using some hard wires so that the figure will be able to stand. Now in order to do this, one just simply has to get a bunch of hard wires and create the head, the arms, the legs, and the entire body of the figure. Take note that these wires are hard and may need the assistance of pliers in order for it to move.
Now in order to make the wires a little bit more stable so that the Sculpey will stick to it, one will have to add some masking tape on the body parts. One more thing to do with the masking tape would be to create a ball on the ends of the body parts. The last part of this step would be to wrap the skeleton parts with some tinfoil.
Now after that has already been done, then the next part would be to add the Super Sculpey on the skeleton. When starting out, one should first rub a very thin layer of the Sculpey on the body parts. When one has already done this, then one may just add more of the Sculpey as much as he pleases.
Now after putting a thin layer of Sculpey there, then the next thing to do would be to add more and build the figure. Now during this step, one can be creative and make the doll look like whatever he wants. Of course he also has to carve the face in which he can use different paints and accessories for the eyes, the mouth, and the nose.
The last step would be to now stick all the parts together. Now do take note that at the edge of the segments, there should be a ball where the masking tape was placed and a joint that it will connect to. Connect these pieces and bake them in the oven for a few minutes before taking it out and putting on the clothes.
