Freddie Mercury the one and only Music Genius
Freddie Mercury is one of the most successful individuals in the music industry. He captured the love of the people around the globe with his songs and compositions. His legitimate name is "Farrokh Bulsara" and he was born on September 5, 1946 in the tiny spice island of Zanzibar. His parents were Persian, Bomi and Jer Bulsara. He was raised in an typical household and at the age of eight, Freddie was send to St. Peter's English boarding school located in Panchgani.
At St Peter's he spend his primary and secondary education and it was a British school. His friends started to call him Freddie and he showed good sportsmanship by joining numerous sports and winning many games. Besides sports he also has an exceptional skill in art and music. Freddie also took piano training and became a member of university choir. Together with his school buddies, they created the school's rock'n roll band and referred to it as 'Hectics.' They do performances in school parties and during special occasions. He spent his college in Isleworth Polytechnic and Ealing College of Art and took up graphic illustrating course.
He met the band of his buddy Tim called Smile that made him motivated again in playing piano. He started practicing with his own buddies who are very impressed on his unique way of actively playing piano. Soon after graduation having a diploma in graphic arts and design he began selling his artwork for profits.
At the age of 23, he was introduced to the band referred to as Ibex and given the chance to become one of its members but at some point the music group was ruined so Freddie searched for another rock band. He found Sour Milk Sea and became its lead pop star but just right after few weeks the band had the identical fate. Freddie had the chance to become a member of the music group of Smile as a lead singer and change the name of the band to 'Queen'.
Freddie created Bohemian Rhapsody, a very popular track and known all around the globe. It was performed by his band Queen and released its 1975 album "A Night at the Opera." This track is so distinctive, having no chorus although with three main parts; the ballad, the guitar solo, and the hard rock. Bohemian Rhapsody became the most expensive single ever made and one of the most popular in the music history. It's probably the most successful songs of Queen. He also wrote several songs entitled the Seven Seas of Rhye, We Are the Champions, Killer Queen, Somebody to Love, Play the Game, Bicycle Race, Don't Stop Me Now, Crazy Little Things Called Love and Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy. Freddie also changed his image by trimming his hair and grew a moustache.
He also had solo records and singles aside from his work with Queen. His two full albums outside of the rock band were Mr. Bad Guy in 1985 and Barcelona in 1988. Mr. Bad Guy is a pop-oriented album good for disco and dance tunes while Barcelona was recorded and performed with Montserrat Caballe. Both records received overwhelming success.
Freddie met Mary Austin early in 1970 with whom he loved for seven years but separated and remained as friends. He left most of his prosperity to Mary Austin soon after he died because he considered her as his only genuine friend. He even made numerous songs devoted to her and one of this is "Love of My life"
During their July 13, 1985 performance at Live Aid in Wembley Stadium with about 72,000 people, Queen secured their place in the music history. In spite of all the results, Freddie Mercury confronted several issues especially in sex-related orientation as a bisexual. He previously had also numerous relationships with guys and bisexual and one of them is Jim Hutton. He spent the final six years of his life with this man.
He grew to become terribly ill with AIDS but he didn't want people to find out about this so he continued producing songs and making video clips. He passed away November 24, 1991 with bronchial pneumonia as one of the complication of Aids.
A live concert was held in Wembley Stadium on April 20, 1992 as a homage to the memory of Freddie Mercury. An album named "Made in Heaven" was also release on November 6, 1995 by the three other members of Queen as a greatest tribute to their close friend.
